The exhibition shows the historical development of Do It Yourself-Design on the basis of selected objects and archival documents. But the focus lies on the work of contemporary designers, through which DIY can be accessed as a meaningful aesthetic and political phenomenon of the present.
On show are 100 objects from designers as Richard Riemerschmid, Gerrit Rietveld, Ferdinand Kramer, Enzo Mari, Viktor Papanek, Ken Isaacs, Droog Design, Minale-Maeda, Van Bo Le Mentzel, Jerszy Seymour, Stephane Barbier Bouvet or mischertraxler. DIY is discussed under various aspects. Several workshops invite you to do it yourself, among others Jerszy Seymours Amateur workshop #6. A Perverts Guide to Design.
